These cuffs are great for patrol officers and security. They are strong, yet light, and are easy to use. Unfortunately they do not fit most standard cuff cases, so you will need the ASP brand cases as well.

My department bought 10 of these to try out on a trial basis. After about a year on the job the mechanisms started breaking down and causing the cuffs to release at random. This is dangerous!Also the double sided keyway allows access to the keyhole by those wearing the cuffs. Dangerous again! I was taught, and continue to teach my rookies, holes go up on handcuffs and down on legirons.These have all since been replaced with the same Smith''s that have served my dept for at least my lifetime.
