He loves the boots. Great fit.
I have ordered BATES boots 3 times. always fit great and last 2 or 3 years!!!
Excellent boots. The first day I wore them I stood for six hours and they were very comfortable for being fresh out of the box and not broken in. Highly recommend these.
I was cooking in a restaurant nd our floors are wet, especialy in the cooler and the sink area. I slipped just like the picture on the wet floor warning signs wearing these boots and never touched the ground. These boots at first irritated my inner ankle bone but after wearing them for a while I really appreciated the support they gave me. I would buy these again, they helped me stand on my feet with good posture for long periods of time, these are vey comfortable, don't squish the toes and stylish.
As a Search and Rescue medic/EMT/Nurse, I've worn many boots better than those put out by Bates. After buying a $180 pair of Blauer Tactical boots, I've found that quality may not come cheap, but it's worth an extra few bucks.
These boots are the best I have had. They hold up very well and are made of great material. The soles have lasted about 2 years without the loss of traction. A very well made boot for any use!!!
These boots are great they are confortable from the start I have had 5.11, Ricky, tactile research and magnum and these boots are better than any of them by far the only boot That comes better is the GX8 boot from bates you can not go wrong with these boots.
These boots are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever purchased. They took a terribly long time for 'break in', and nearly 2 months later are still very uncomfortable and tiring to wear. Having worn boots for 20 years in the military, and several more years since, I honestly have to say these are the worst boots, comfort wise, I can ever remember owning. They are also very difficult to shine, and I will never buy another pair of Bates boots again.
I have owned 4 pair of these boots and they are great. Light weight and very durable. Have never had any problems. I will order another pair when these wear out,
+light weight, easy on/off, good traction
-not as durable and a heavier boot
My third pair. Good for daily light duty. If your in a rocky area or climbing these will not last too long. Otherwise they are light and cool in summer.
I had these a total of 4 months and the weld (where the boot meets the sole) started falling apart. It was an easy fix with rubber fix-it compound, but that's beside the point. I also did not like the fact that if there was more than 1/4" of water on the ground/floor....there was also water in your boot (before the weld even broke down.) They are comfortable, and they give the ankle support - but I would not recommend these boots to anyone. Other brands are cheaper in price yet are higher quality than these. Shop around!
Construction early on appeared to be of good quality. Wore this boots for a total of six months before they began to fall completely apart under normal activity. Would recommend Bates Dura Shocks instead for a better service boot to Officers in the field. Be safe.
Great Boots and they are comfortable and light.
I purchased my first pair in 2010 and was immediately impressed by how light and comfortable they were. I am on my feet all day walking on a hard tile floor and my feet never get sore. I literally wore the sole completely smooth and they still remained comfortable. I am now wearing my second pair and will buy no other. 5 stars!
I totally agree with the last review by a Paramedic. I set my 'other' Tactical boots aside cause they are NOT as comfortable as the Bates UltraLites. Very lite weight and comfortable. I will buy this item again and no other.
I don't generally do reviews on products, but this shoe is great. It is my 3rd set the last set going over 2 years. The comfort is unbelievable and immediate. I will buy no other.
Q: Do these boots have steel shanks? Or are they security friendly?
A: These have a non-metallic shank, so they should go through a metal detector.
Q: Are these boots, Bates Ultra Lites 8, water proof.
A: These are not waterproof.
Q: I wear a Size 16 real wide. Can you get a pair that size for me? I ride a motorcycle and that would be nice to have when riding.
A: Unfortunately the biggest size we can get would be a size 14 Wide.
Q: Does these boots have steel toe?
A: "No, the Bates Ultra-Lites 8"" Side-Zip Boot are not safety toe - steel, composite, or otherwise."
